Lunch Entertainment

Today my friend Stacey and her little girl, Whitney, came over for lunch. Whitney is just 2 weeks older than Claire. Both girls had on their bibs that Microsoft had sent in a baby care package and we thought it would be fun to take a picture of them with their matching bibs.
The entertainment began when Claire began to cry.
 Then Whitney started crying.
Then they were both crying and howling.
It ended up being almost a game of who could outdo the other. Stacey and I couldn't stop laughing as one baby would cry louder after looking at the other baby and then the other would follow. They just looked so cute! And yes, eventually we did comfort them, but only after we both had had a throroughly good laugh!

Just Because

Dang, I hate to sound super biased but I'm pretty sure I have the cutest, sweetest little girl in THE WORLD!!!! I know all mommies feel that way and we're all entitled to have a least a few [hundred] blog entries going on and on about how great our kids are.

Claire has had a lot of "firsts" this month which has been very exciting for me as I've watched her grow and change. She is a baby that laughs, smiles, acts shy, giggles and talks to herself. Even as I write this, she is having a deep converstion with her little blue elephant: Claire " Ehyeh, ehyeh! Ahyaya. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhya" Something to that effect. She is the sweetest little baby and the most patient child I've ever seen--even when she's hungry or tired. She is super happy and lots of fun to be around. I can't get enough of this child!!!!!!

Some of the "firsts":

Holding a bottle

Eating rice cereal

Rolling back and forth in order to move forward

Lots of toe touching, grabbing and eating

Playing her own version of peek-a-boo

She is SOOOOOO CUTE!!!! I LOVE HER!!!!

Hangin' By the Pool

The sun came out. Finally. It was a balmy 72 degrees today and I felt like rejoicing! So we put on our sunscreen, our swimsuits and sunglasses and went to the pool.  Luckily our pool is heated so the temperature felt just right. I'm still not sure what she thinks of being in water. She isn't overly thrilled, but she doesn't cry either. Then again, she doesn't cry necessarily even if something bugs her. We practiced putting her head back into the water so it covered her ears and we bobbed up and down, making big splashes! We only stay in the water a little while because I don't have any floating device for her yet and my arms were getting tired. I think she enjoyed herself. I sure did. :)

All geared up to go!

Sun bum, like her mama :)

Enjoying herself

Claire discovered this today
